community Occupational Therapist (Band 5)

(37.5 hours per week, TERM TIME only)

Future Steps are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join their dynamic, innovative team. This is an exciting opportunity for an occupational therapist who would love to work with children and young people within the community. Full training, CPD, support, and progression will be provided.

Working Days:

  • Working Hours - 37.5 hours per week (TERM TIME ONLY)

    • Monday – 8:45 am – 4:30 pm

    • Tuesday - 8:45 am – 4:30 pm

    • Wednesday – 08:45 – 5:45 pm

    • Thursday - 8:45 am – 4:30 pm

    • Friday -8:45 am – 4:30 pm

SALARY: £31,049 per year (pro rata)

requirements & qualifications

BSc Hons or MSc in Occupational Therapy

Full, clean driving license - (Travelling is required for this position)

HCPC Registration

Enhanced DBS Check - (Future Steps will fund the application)

KEY ROLES

Carry out standardised and non-standardised occupational therapy assessments including sensory profiles and report on findings and recommendations.

Create and develop individualised or group programmes to support the young person’s participation, behaviour, independence or academic performance in home and school settings.

Create goals and review outcomes while monitoring intervention.

Manage your own caseload of clients with identified occupational therapy needs. This is normally a number of school settings you will attend each week, so you have a wonderful opportunity to develop good relationships with educators and young people. A typical day will be 6 hours on school site with remaining work time completing admin from home which can be worked on a flexible basis (after training period).

We work across the North East mainly in Tees Valley and County Durham areas and mileage is provided.
