Occupational Therapy Assistant

(Term Time Only)

Future Steps is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our innovative, multidisciplinary team. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of therapy programmes under the supervision of a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, as well as assist with virtual school visits and ICT assessments, helping to improve the lives of children, young people, and adults in our state-of-the-art clinic.

This is a 12-month fixed-term, term-time-only contract to cover maternity leave; however, it has the potential to become a permanent role for the right candidate.

Working Days:

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Term Time Only (39 weeks per year)

    • Tuesday – 07:30 – 5:30

    • Wednesday – 08:00 – 5:30

    • Thursday – 07:45 – 5:45

    • Friday – 07:30 – 5:30

SALARY:

£28,392 per annum (pro-rata)

what we’re looking for

Understanding of occupational therapy and child development

Experience in schools, nurseries, or children’s services is a plus

Strong communication, organisation, and time management skills

Confident and compassionate when working with clients of all ages

KEY ROLES

Support setup and maintenance of therapy spaces

Assist with therapy sessions and group interventions

Help deliver school visits virtually and in the community and therapy programmes

Carry out ICT assessments in clinic and community settings

Create therapy resources and manage equipment

Greet and support clients, including those with complex needs

Maintain accurate and confidential records
